Giveaway: Espionage Cosmetics “Nailed It” Nail Wraps

As I’ve mentioned in my past convention recaps, no con is quite complete for me without a visit to the Espionage Cosmetics booth. I first discovered their geeky goodness through the wonderful world of the Internet, which informed me that Firefly themed makeup was, in fact, a thing that I could own. Being both an avid Whedonite and lover of all things makeup, it was like I’d found a little piece of nerdvana here on earth.

When I finally got to test their products at Geek Girl Con 2013, I was not disappointed. Espionage Cosmetics isn’t just eyeshadow – it’s all-over pigment that can be used either dry or wet on your eyes, lips or face. Not only that, but as someone with astonishingly sensitive skin, I can proudly say that I’ve never had a single issue with any of the Espionage pigments I own.

And it gets better.

The nail art mania that has been going around the past couple of years has left many of us starving for geeky nail wraps. That old newspaper and magazine trick just doesn’t cut it, and not all of us have the talent to paint tiny TARDISes on our own nails. But never fear, fellow geeks, because Espionage Cosmetics line of nail wraps is here to save the day.

Our timey wimey grand prize!

Our timey wimey grand prize!

The beauty of the nail wraps is that they’re super easy to use: you put stick them on your nail(s) of choice, file away the excess, throw on a top coat and you’re good to go for up to two weeks. They can go over nail polish or straight onto your bare nail.

If you’re like me and super hard on your nails, a wrap that will last two weeks probably sounds too good to be true. However, I tested out the durability of the Nailed It! wraps during WonderCon. Espionage Cosmetics was the very first booth I visited during WonderCon – the nail wrap sample was applied over my painted nail. I opted to see how long it would last WITHOUT a top coat.

I’m pleased to say that after three days of running around, frantic typing, and blindly reaching around in my bag for business cards, the nail showed no sign of chipping. Two days after WonderCon? Still no chipping! In fact, it very likely would’ve lasted a good week without the top coat if I hadn’t had to remove my nail polish because teal and sparkly glow-in-the-dark eyeball nails aren’t business formal attire. Yet.
